Memories

Dear Future Daanish,

It has occurred to me that this blog is kind of useless because while it may allow you to remember all the things you used to do, it will only do so at the moment you're reading it. You won't remember them on a day-to-day basis, and thus you won't really act on those memories in any significant way. I'm not saying that as a judgement on you, life is simply too busy and the brain is simply too simple to function that way. However, if one were to act based on their memories, even the little insignificant ones, I'm sure one would interact differently with friends and family. For instance, if you always remembered the good times you had with someone, the nice things they've done for you, how much they mean to you, et cetera, then you would likely appreciate them much more and treat them differently.

You might be wondering what prompted this thought process; today, I was thinking about what it would be like if I were to lose certain friends or certain friends were to lose me. I realized that I probably wouldn't care too much and neither would the friends. I mean sure, we'd probably be upset at first but in the end we wouldn't end up caring - at least not in any significant way. Strange, huh? Life just moves on.

Anyways, today, you only went to school for one class, and you ran into Sarah Resendes on the way there and the way back. You had nice conversation. It was fun. Other than that, you've been watching The West Wing with Leslie for most of the day; great ending to the first season.

That's all for today.

Sincerely yours,
Past Daanish
